Resolution by the International Association of Security and Investigative WHEREAS, the members of the International Association of Security and Investigative Regulators are responsible for the regulation of private security companies and private security officers according to the laws of the members’ respective states and provinces, and WHEREAS, the regulation of private security is an integral component of public safety and security, and of the protection of the homeland, and WHEREAS, proposed legislation has been introduced which prohibits the exchange of criminal history records or information about an arrest more than one year old as of the date of the request for the exchange, that does not also include a disposition (if any) of that arrest, and WHEREAS, the reporting process by states and other jurisdictions may, due to the legal process, surpass a one year period for an individual awaiting trial for a violent felony, and WHEREAS, the regulatory authority of a given state may approve a weapons license for an individual awaiting trial in another state if the criminal history exchange is prohibited without final disposition, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
